Sugar Blossom Fine Art Print

Under a cloak of stars this young sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps) feasts on nectar from the dazzling pink gum blossom Corymbia ficifolia endemic to the southwest of Australia.

Whilst the sugar glider has a penchant for nectar, sap and tree gums they also enjoy a large range of snacks such as eggs, lizards, insects and small birds. Their scientific name means “short-headed springboard” and their wrist to ankle membrane, called the patagium allows them to glide up to 50 meters.
